Paris Fire Brigade (BSPP) plate: vehicle-type letters followed by a serial number. Paris Fire Brigade (Brigade de sapeurs-pompiers de Paris, a military unit) special series: letters for the vehicle type followed by a serial number. The Paris Fire Brigade is a military unit and used the common firefighter abbreviations for the vehicle type instead of military plates (about 50 codes for 830 vehicles in 2003). The Marseille naval fire battalion used ordinary Bouches-du-Rhône plates, and the one in Brest used Navy plates.
